React just announced two awesome new features to make websites feel smoother and friendlier! View Transitions lets you add beautiful animations between pages with just a few lines of code - no complicated animation skills needed. Activity remembers what you type or do on a page, so when you click away and come back later, everything is right where you left it. It even starts loading the next page before you click, making everything super fast. Together, these features make websites feel more like polished mobile apps!

⚛️ This Week's Top 5
1️⃣ React Drops Two Game-Changing Features
React just announced View Transitions and Activity API! View Transitions creates smooth, animated state changes while the Activity API helps in saving state for parts of the UI the user isn’t using, or pre-render parts that a user is likely to use next.. Want the inside scoop before these go mainstream? Subscribe to my channel for upcoming deep-dives on these or read the announcement blog post here.
2️⃣ React Interview Prep: The One Commonly Asked Interview Question
Preparing for interviews? I break down one of the most common React interview questions I've been asked repeatedly. You MUST practice this question before your interview.
3️⃣ TanStack Start: The New Framework You Need to Know
TanStack Start is a new full-stack React framework that gives developers powerful tools for building modern web apps with server-side rendering, streaming, and type-safe server functions. It combines TanStack Router's excellent routing system with Vite's speedy development experience, letting you build production-ready apps that work seamlessly between client and server. I sat down with Tanner Linsley to discuss this framework and asked unhinged questions: Why another framework? How does it compare to Next.js? When is it not a suitable fit? Watch our unfiltered conversation here.
4️⃣ “use client” Behind The scenes from Dan Abramov
Rather than simply marking code location, `use client` functions as a `typed <script>` exporting client components to the server, while `use server` works as a `typed fetch()` exporting server functions to the client. These directives let developers model client/server applications as a single program spanning multiple machines while respecting network boundaries. Check out this gold nugget from Dan Abramov in video format.
